8 weeks...Already!

Grandpop Slate took Trent to the doctor's on Thursday. Here was the great update:

Weight: 14 lbs. and 2 oz.
Height: 24 and one half inches.
Heart: Perfect
Lungs: Perfect
Ears: Perfect
All body parts: Perfect

On the scale to measure the baby's growth progress, he ranks in the 90th percentiles on every thing..My dad claims the doctor told him there was a :
87% chance he will be a banker.
86% chance he will be an educator
95% he will be a musician.
100% he will adore both sets of his grandparents.

Vaccinations: All are completed. The one we were most concerned about with the link to Autism doesn't happen until 15 months or older.

Baby Acne: It should go away a little after three months.

Trent still breathes pretty loudly at night and makes a ton of noise while he sleeps. The doctor said breathing loudly, slightly congested at night, sporadic cough is nothing to be concerned about and that we should try a vaporizer in the room and elevate his head.

Eating: He is doing well, but we were worried he might need more to eat and wondered how we would know if he did.The doctor's answer was, "If he demands more, he will let you know."

Zantac: After consultation with another doctor, they decided not to increase his meds, since he is doing pretty well during the day. If the acid reflux is an issue, it would be an issue 24 hours a day.

Allergies: We were curious to find out if Trent has allergies. We didn't know when he would be tested. Doc said there is a 50 percent chance he will have the same allergies of Mom and Dad. Coughing, sneezing, rash, etc are the most common symptoms. Usually babies do not start allergies until about 6 months or older.

Trent was excellent during the doctor visit. He smiled, cooed, ate, and played the whole time. He held his head up and even moved his head to follow motion and sound.

He is on Concentrated Tylenol Infant Drops, .8 every four hours for two days, because of the shots.

He hardly cried at all and came home to play on his mat. Trent is a tough little guy. Later in the evening, Scott took him to a manly night of football. He even slept well!

Check out his little bandaids from where they gave him the shots.....he melts me.
