Grace Church Picnic

I know, I probably shouldn't be allowed to post about church since we really haven't gone in a long time. Trent is a bit too active for mass right now. We are coming up with a plan to get back. We do try attend the functions of the church, though. Most recently, there was a picnic. Scott and I joined my parents for an afternoon of fun. I took a zillion pictures. My hope is that more young people will come to the church and get involved. I am going to submit them to the church's website.
The woman pictured below is Leona Scott. She watched my dad grow up and me...and now Trent. She still makes it to church and lives right behind my parents. I make sure to give her a hug and a kiss whenever I see her. I spent many summer days at her house drinking sweet tea and playing with one of my oldest friends, her grand daughter, Kristen. It was good to see Mrs. Scott that day. I get all excited when she gets to give Trent a hug.
Trent was very busy at the picnic. He made friends with Laurel's son. He is 15 months old, so it was a perfect match. Trent wore him out. He passed out about half way through the picnic!

There certainly wasn't a shortage of things to do. There was Bingo, food, face painting, water games, bean bag toss, prizes, and even funnel cakes!

My dad and Trent got some "ink." I was surprised Trent sat for the goldfish to be painted, but he did. He kept pointing to it and saying, "shhhhhhh." That is his word for fish right now.

Trent also had his first SEVERAL pieces of watermelon. Check out the video:
