Happy Birthday, Poppy!

Words really won't ever be able to describe how lucky we are to have my dad. He has sacrificed so much to take care of Trent. He always says it is his pleasure and he loves doing it, but I know how difficult it can be. When I stay home with Trent, he is so active and curious and into everything that I have trouble keeping up. My dad though..he plays with him constantly and teaches him amazing things. Things I could never do or think of. He never rests at all while he watches him. They are buds through and through.

No silly birthday party will be able to recognize my dad for the man his is, the example he sets, or the ways he has touched my life. In a way, I doubt he will ever know how much I appreciate all he does. I hope he gathers it from the little ways he allows to me treat him sometimes.

After a lot of begging, and my mom insisting on providing dinner, I was able to get them to let me entertain them for a celebration of my dad's birthday. They don't ever let me pay for anything or spend time on them for anything, so I was proud of tonight. I made him a chocolate chip cookie cake and did the writing. Of course, Poppy was waiting for Trent. The minute his little bud woke up, Poppy jumped into action. They ate and spelled and flew and giggled. Man, I love my dad and so does Trent. I am truly amazed at just how much my parents love me. I hope I am even a little like them for Trent. Takes my breath away.

Happy Birthday, Daddy (Poppy). We love you. Thank you for loving us so much.
