I don't do "official" play dates often because I just hang out with my friends and their kids.. We, "get the kids together," and hang out ourselves. But, recently, I met a friend of a friend who invited me to a play date at Knight Park in Collingswood. I hadn't really noticed where it was until the morning of the date, so I am sorry I didn't invite my friends in that area to come and play. Trent and I were excited about meeting new friends and we got ready early to head out to our first official play date. Trent wore his favorite shoes- Crocs- to meet new friends. I want to remember these Crocs forever since he loves them and I feel they are adorable.
He also loves wearing sunglasses. His Daddy wears them all the time so I assume he likes to copy, but he looks so sophisticated in them now that he is almost three. Knight Park is really pretty and the playground rocked.
Trent waited outside the bathrooms for Ella and Renee, who came with us, quite nicely. These days, Trent is understanding when we have to take a little break from the action for things. I love this picture. He is so handsome.
Renee and Ella were kind enough to join us. Ella is looking forward to her new brother or sister and she is really ready. I loved seeing Renee and Ella together. They are best buds.
Trent played hard on the playground. He is playing more independently now and I like watching him when he doesn't know I am around. He is an excellent climber and problem solver like his Dad.
Also like his father, he is always hungry. So, he had some snacks on the bench, but then decided to escape to this beautiful tree for more time with his dried mangos.

Two days in a row now, Trent has cracked himself up so bad that he snorts (he gets that from me). At the playground his laugh was contagious and all the adults around kept laughing with him. We weren't sure at what, but his little giggle was too hard to resist. Ella didn't like me taking her picture too much. So, mostly, I got this face from her.

Truly, the reason we were there was my new friend Maren who had invited us to come. Her son, Jaren, was there playing with the kids. It was actually his first birthday and he seemed to have fun with everyone around him. Maren's group of friends brought friends too and we ended up meeting this really cute little baby and her mom and big brother while we played. Look at that face!
Ella wants a baby brother, so Renee and I were glad to see how Jaren took to Ella. Meanwhile, Trent played in the misting machine with the kids and loved every second.
Good times.
