Grandpop Slate retired. He is starting a new chapter in his life as care taker of Trent. I feel so happy and excited that he is going to be able to do this for us, but so incredibly sad that he is leaving Northern Burlington. His colleagues and friends at NBC will miss him dearly. Today, they showed it. The speeches, songs, plaques, and laughter blew me away. I cried for the whole time. I just hope everyone knows how appreciative we are of the sacrifice he has made. Here's to 37 years of excellence, Dad! You are a role model who has touched many lives and will touch Trent's little heart. Words can't express what you've meant to Northern.
