Crafting for Easter

My crafting partner in crime, Renee, and I embarked on a day long journey into Easter crafting today. I left the big craft idea up to her since she is the true mastermind behind all things cool in the artsy world. We started the morning by dying eggs, which was really the easiest part of the day. Ella and Trent were careful, calm, and cute while they worked. It was cool to see them so happy about the project.

The eggs were vibrant and fun and really not that messy to be honest. The next project came from a blog Renee found, The Imagination Tree. I can't get over the cute stuff on the site for kids to do. If you are looking for something to work on, check it out. I have it bookmarked now for gifts and holidays. We decided on the Paper Mache Easter Egg project because we KNEW the kids would love to paint with the glue and get all sticky. Not the case at all, actually, but Renee and I powered through. Renee directed the process and followed her lead.

Then we made homemade playdoh. Renee made it before and the stuff doesn't ever dry out. I asked her to help me make some gifts and she did. The kids helped with the kneading process.

Now that the day is done, the eggs are patiently waiting and pretty. I am hopeful they turn out. As always though, the fun was in spending time with my dear friend and her lovely girls.
