So here we are.... Cole James is a year old today. Now that I am finished crying about not having a baby any more, I am thinking I should share some memories and facts about my little guy on his birthday.
1. Cole is a happy baby boy. He is usually laughing and giggling and smiling for the entire day. I believe he got all the crying out in those first few weeks and has settled into his happy attitude for awhile.
2. We are much more relaxed about raising Cole and I think that may make him more able to go with the flow. He travels well, likes going to eat at restaurants, and doesn't mind playing on his own for a bit. He transitioned well into whole organic milk and his favorite food is strawberry organic yogurt pops that I freeze.
3. Cole eats anything and everything we let him try. I am slightly weirded out by his tendency to pick ANY ITEM off the floor and try to eat it. In fact, we are missing several knobs from different places and totally suspect he has eaten them. As you can imagine, it is tough to let him play in the grass outside...who knows what he will eat out there.
4. For a few months now, Cole asks for his dad frequently by saying, " Hey, Dad?" or " Dad?" loudly. The only time he really says Mama is when he is in distress or tired...I like it that way:)
5. I was worried about having a second child. I swore I couldn't possibly love another being as much as I loved Trent. Clearly, I was wrong.
7.Trent and Cole's interactions make my heart sing. Cheesey, but true. Trent runs into the house from school to see Cole. Trent even has a nickname for him, " Cole Jim" and Cole calls Trent, " Na!" Cole practically jumps out of his high chair if Trent walks by...he has such a good role model in his big brother.
8. Cole's legs are so chubby and adorable that I find myself taking many pictures of his rolls...and many pictures of everything he does.
9. Cole's laughter is loud and joyful. It fills our home daily and delights everyone he meets.
10. I still stare at Cole at night and kiss his little face way too much.
