Christmas with Grammy and Poppy

We certainly had an eventful Christmas! These are some shots from Grammy and Poppy's house on Christmas Day. Aunt Jo Ann and Aunt Kelly joined us for some good times. Trent was trying to play with his new barn...

Aunt JoAnn crotcheted a hat and scarf for him, Kelly held him when he changed (notice how hot my poor baby was),Grammy and Trent had some laughs...

Above, Trent actually unwrapped his gifts from Aunt JoAnn, played more with his animals, and got a family picture....Below, Poppy and Trent (does Poppy ever take a day off?) and smiles from my little angel.

Ears

I couldn't resist. Look at their ears. They are the same.

Christmas PJs

I just love the Christmas PJs! He slept well while he waited for Santa to come.

The Annual Christmas Party

The Williams' had everyone over for the annual Christmas Eve bash. Last year,

Trent was just a little peanut, but this year, he was all over the place. At this point in the night, he was pretty tired. He still turned it on for the camera and the ladies. My hair is crazy in the family picture...please ignore. I especially love the shot with Granddaddy and Trent ready to fall asleep on the couch. We all had a great time!

Mimi and Granddaddy's House

Our first Christmas dinner and gift exchange was with Mimi, Granddaddy, and Uncle Mike on Christmas Eve. You can see just how elegant the table looked, Trents Christmas bib, church in Haddonfield, crying Trent getting ready for Jackie and Jerry's Christmas party, ALL the gifts Mimi and Granddaddy gave us, and Uncle Mike's gift to Trent. Thank you! Thank you so much!

GG visits

GG, Great Grandmom, visited us on Christmas Eve. She was so generous to our little family. This was Trent's first experience with gifts and unwrapping. He ate them ...

I attempted the assist...

But, he just wanted to eat all the paper...

Overall, we had a great day with GG!

All dressed up...

My boys are too cute together. All dressed up for church together...Trent loves his daddy.

Granny

I miss my Granny every day. I miss her so much lately that when I talk about her I actually cry. Just the other day I was changing Trent and thinking about how she would kiss him, and hug him, and hold him and tell him stories. I am crying while I write this.....One of the times my Granny went to the hospital, I gave her a little dog so that she would not miss her dog Cody who had to stay home. From that time on, Granny took that dog to each hospital visit. I was lucky enough to have it when she passed. Many people don't know that I found out about Trent only a short while after Granny died. In fact, the dates the doctor gave us about conception were matched up with when she passed. My Granny took care of me. She knew how much I wanted Trent to come and gave me the greatest gift I could ever ask for. Christmas time is tough for me. She used to wear her little Christmas outfits to our house and be so excited to give us all gifts and go to church. I guess I just think about her more at this time of year.

This is all leading to the picture below. When we set up Trent's crib before he was born, I put Granny's dog in there so she could watch over him. He just recently started to notice it and play with it. The first time was around two in the morning, last Wednesday, when Trent had an accident in his crib. I gave him the dog to play with while I changed the sheets. I had never seen him hug or cuddle with anything until that early morning (yes, I ran for the camera).Granny loved to be hugged and kissed so I am sure she is happy to get little kisses from our little man....

Seeing Santa

Trent saw Santa at the Moorestown mall for pictures. He was so wide-eyed and smiley for the whole experience. Linda's daughter Barbarba was getting her pictures taken with Santa too! I didn't get any clear shots of her, but she smiled just as big as Trent!

En"light"ened

I am fully aware these pictures are super dark. I just didn't want to disturb his discovery. When I sit Trent on the couch to just hang out, he reaches for the tree. The funniest part about the moment is his face. He gets completely disgusted by the texture of the needles. He touches it, makes a face, and goes in for another try. One of my friends told me that looking at the world through my child's eyes would be an awesome and inspiring gift. This is one of the many times I have seen something in a whole new "light" (pun intended) because of Trent.

Soft Focus

We tried desperately to use this picture for our Christmas cards, but the company we are using, purplestork , told us the focus was too soft and the pic was too dark. I still like it. Since Trent is sick, I don't have too many pics to share before the weekend. The kicker is that even though he is very sick he is still laughing, smiling, and playing hard. Sleeping- well, that's another blog entry. Enjoy the weekend. Our little family always does.

Hot Santa

We went to picture people to get some professional pictures taken of Trent. What a fiasco! The bright light, of course, was Trent. We smiled and giggled through the whole session. He was such a good boy to wait the three hours he did. The Santa suit was the last pic we took in the session, so here he is relaxing in it. Unbuttoned and casual. Cool.

Gifts

My favorite gift....
